Major histocompatibility complex (MHC) are proteins capable of presenting antigenic peptides, non-covalently bound in a groove to the T lymphocytes. The groove is formed by two G-DOMAINs which belong to the same chain (alpha chain of the MHC class I), or to two different chains (alpha and beta chains of the MHC class II). In the MHC class I, the alpha chain is associated to the beta2-microglobulin (B2M).
